Summary:
The Registered Nurse coordinates the total nursing care of assigned patients including assessment, planning, implementation, and documentation.
Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.
Assesses plans and evaluates patient care needs.
Carries out physician orders.
Administers prescribed medications, changes dressings, cleans wounds, monitors vital signs.
Serves as the primary coordinator of all disciplines for well coordinated patient care.
Instructs and educates patients and families.
Assesses and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
Education:
Graduate of a nursing program
Bachelors of Science in Nursingpreferred
Experience:
Nursing Experience in Hospital Setting Preferred.
New Graduates of a nursing program eligible
Certifications | Licensure:
Current License in the State of Georgia as a Registered Nurse or NLC|eNLC Multistate License. BLS certification required.
Advanced certification in field of specialty, if applicable.
Special Skills:
Must be able to utilize independent decision-making skills in a wide variety of situations.
Requires a high degree of accuracy in the performance of varied responsibilities.
Personal computer skills required.
Frequent contact with employees, physicians, customers, community individuals and volunteers.
Must be self-motivated to complete work in a timely manner to meet deadlines.
