Position Overview

We are seeking a Psychiatry-specific Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) with prescribing authority to join our practice. The ideal candidate will have experience working with adult patients in general psychiatry and a passion for providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychiatric evaluations and follow-up visits for adult patients
• Diagnose and manage general psychiatric conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, ADHD)
• Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications in collaboration with the supervising physician
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)
• Deliver care via telehealth (with transition to in-office care in Davenport if required by insurance)
• Work collaboratively with the psychiatrist and other mental health providers to ensure continuity of care

Qualifications

• Active Florida PA-C or ARNP license in good standing
• Active DEA registration with prescribing authority for psychiatric medications
• Minimum 1–2 years of experience in psychiatry preferred (adult focus)
• Ability to manage a caseload of ~8 patients per day
• Must carry and maintain own malpractice insurance
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Commitment to collaborative team-based care
• Ability to commute reliably to Davenport

Compensation

• 1099 Independent Contractor arrangement
• Flexible schedule (1 day per week to start, potential for expansion)
• Competitive per-encounter or daily rate, commensurate with experience
