This opportunity entails being under close supervision, assisting the Michigan planning group with various tasks including but not limited to data analysis, field work, geographic information science applications, mapping, and environmental planning. This position is usually on a part-time, temporary, or co-op basis.
Relocation and housing are not provided for this position.
Our Detroit, Michigan office is seeking a GIS and Planning Analyst Intern for Summer 2025.
What You’ll Do:
Assists project team members with various support tasks.
Conducts basic research and data collection.
Maintains records, collections and files related to specific projects.
Assist in the development of graphics, presentation materials and reports.
Performs other duties assigned.
What You’ll Need:
What We Prefer:
Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for technology, particularly GIS
Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams)
An interest in learning and staying current on transportation planning
Familiarity with GIS applications including FieldMaps, Experience Builder, ArcGIS Pro.
Ability to communicate effectively through visual and written documentation
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Assists project team members with various support tasks such as development of maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reporting.
Strong interest in transportation, infrastructure, and the environment
