Job Title: Finisher
Compensation: $22.00-$28.00 per hour based on experience 
Reports To: Shop Foreman and Quality Control Manager

Position Overview:
The Finisher is responsible for the final preparation of main parts and assemblies, ensuring they meet quality standards. This includes grinding, polishing, and applying prime paint as required. The Finisher plays a key role in the finishing process, ensuring that all items are prepared according to specifications and are ready for delivery. This position contributes to the efficiency and quality of the fabrication process and supports the overall operations of the fabrication shop.

Duties:

• Review fabrication drawings to determine the type of finish required
• Grind parts to specifications as necessary
• Prepare materials for final finishing, including cleaning and polishing
• Prime paint parts as required
• Update shipping checklist as items are completed
• Neatly store finished materials in designated areas
• Load materials for delivery as required
• Ensure all finishing work complies with quality standards

Skills:

• Experience with grinding, polishing, and painting processes
• Familiarity with fabrication drawings and understanding of finishes required
• Ability to operate basic shop equipment, including grinders and painting tools
• Attention to detail to ensure high-quality work and adherence to specifications
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work overtime or weekends as needed
• Basic math skills required to measure and assess materials and finishes

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, and use hands to handle materials
• Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and steel-toed boots required
• Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
• Ability to work in various weather conditions during the material loading process
• Must be able to stand for extended periods (up to 10 hours)

Other Requirements:

• A valid NYS Driver's License is required and reliable transportation
