Main Duties and Responsibilities: The Maritime Vertical Market Manager drives strategic growth and innovation within the Maritime industry segment by aligning market needs with Bender’s solutions, fostering industry relationships, and leading cross-functional collaboration.

Operative Tasks

  • Conduct comprehensive market and competitive analyses to define and monitor growth objectives.
  • Establish, maintain, deepen, and expand relationships within the Marine industry to strengthen Bender’s market positioning and trust.
  • Develop requirements for innovative products and applications tailored to the Marine industry's needs. 
  • Drive specification efforts across Navy, Coast Guard, Cruise and commercial vessel sectors. 
  • Represent Bender at industry conferences and trade fairs; deliver professional presentations and contribute to internal and external communications. 
  • Participate actively in relevant standards committees. 
  • Provide direct consultant and customer support as needed, including targeted management of individual clients and support for Regional Sales Managers (RSMs).

Management Responsibilities

  • Organize and drive success aligned with the company’s vision and strategic goals.
  • Lead the strategic alignment of the Marine market segment (Vessels & harbors) in correspondence with global lead.
  • Serve as a key interface between departments: sales, product management, marketing, and development, acting as the subject matter expert (SME) and voice of Marine market customers.
  • Contribute actively to the global expert group for the Marine market segment within Bender.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Guide team success through a clear vision and strong values. 
  • Foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing across departments and market segments.
Requirements:

Educational and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field (or equivalent experience). 
  • 4-5+ years of experience in technical sales, business development, or market management role. 
  • Proven experience in the Marine market or selling electrical equipment into Marine applications (Navy, Coast Guard, commercial vessels, shore power). 
  • Advanced technical understanding of electrical systems and applications.
  • Ability to demonstrate devices and applications at customer sites to show advantages and technical performance. 
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards and codes relevant to the Marine sector. 
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive landscapes. 
  • Experience in business management, including strategic planning and cross-functional collaboration. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work and influence cross-functionally across departments. 
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel as needed.
  • Proficiency with the following programs and tools: Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, CoPilot).
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to communicate complex product applications clearly. 
  • Experience participating in standards committees or industry working groups. 
  • Background in Marine engineering or hands-on experience with Marine electrical systems.
