The Wisconsin DNR is hiring an LTE (Limited Term Employee) Fisheries Technician Advanced, in Kansasville, WI.

Fisheries Technician Advanced-Management (General/Survey). This position is responsible for a broad range of technical and paraprofessional support for the fisheries management program. Work duties include leading LTE Crews, implementation of high priority fisheries surveys, entering and analyzing fisheries data and preparing written summaries and reports.
40% - Lead local LTE fisheries crews in assigned management area. Deploy, operate, and retrieve fisheries sampling gear, such as electrofishing gear, fyke nets, and gill nets, in lakes, rivers, and streams. This work will involve following standard protocols for fisheries management surveys as well as fisheries data entry and analysis.
30% - Process fish age structures for the determination of growth and assist with the entry of these data into the statewide database including data proofing. Prepare written summaries and reports as requested.
20% - Conduct the maintenance of equipment, such as fyke nets, gill nets, boats, outboard motors, chainsaws, trailers, and other survey gear.
10% - Conduct miscellaneous fisheries tasks such as creel surveys, land management and acquisition activities, public outreach and general office duties.
This position pays between $19.78 - $20.00 per hour and is in pay schedule and range 06-14. Compensation will be set in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
This is a Limited Term Employment (LTE) position and will not automatically lead to permanent state employment or be entitled to the same benefits as permanent employees.

1) Residency: To be considered for this position, you must be a resident of the State of Wisconsin.
A Wisconsin resident is a person who:
a. Has established a residence, as defined in s. 6.10(1), in this state not less than 10 days earlier;
b. Has resided in this state for not less than a total of one year out of the immediately preceding 5 years;
c. Is eligible to register to vote in this state; or
d. Is the spouse of a person meeting the requirements of par. (a), (b), or (c).” s.230.03(12), Wis. Stats.
