Our client is a successful and growing real property tax-focused law firm consisting of approximately 15 attorneys and 30 professionals in 4 cities (Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, and Pittsburgh).

Job Purpose

This full-time position works as part of a busy team of attorneys, legal assistants, analysts, and other professionals in the Pittsburgh practice group to ensure that clients receive timely, efficient, and tailored solutions to their real property tax questions. Potential for hybrid work schedule after initial training/orientation period in office.

Principal (Essential) Duties

  1. Legal research and writing
  2. Drafting and responding to discovery
  3. Drafting pleadings, motions, briefs, petitions, and answers
  4. Review appraisals and valuation materials
  5. Handle a volume litigation caseload in fast paced environment
  6. Significant travel throughout PA’s counties for administrative and court appearances.
  7. Appear at administrative level hearings throughout PA.
  8. Appear at trial court and court of appeals case conferences, oral arguments, and hearings.
  9. Attend training on real estate valuation provided by the law firm
  10. Attend property inspections throughout PA.
  11. Other duties as assigned.

Experience, Education and Requirements

  1. Licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania.
  2. 1-5 years litigation experience.
  3. Will consider candidates directly out of law school who have demonstrated interest in litigation and/or real estate in their law school career.
  4. Ability to drive regularly throughout PA’s counties.
  5. Undergraduate degree in finance/accounting/real estate a plus but not required.
  6. Experience in administrative law a plus but not required.
