Position Highlights

The Athletics Department is dedicated to excellence in collegiate sports, building a modern model of intercollegiate athletics fostering a culture of integrity, innovation, and student-athlete success.

This position is responsible for the oversight of the Arizona Athletics department's donor and department engagement events including special events, community outreach programs, in-game special presentations and stewardship. Additionally, this position will have oversight of alumni outreach for the A-Club Letterwinners Association, the department's heritage policies, procedures, archives and maintenance of the Jim Click Hall of Champions Museum.

This position requires the ability work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and travel as needed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Develop a comprehensive outreach and special events engagement plan to advance Arizona Athletics presence, assisting in engaging the local and national fan base, and developing fans and active customers of Arizona Athletics.
  • Manage the special events and A-Club letterwinners teams. Supervise, hire, train, and oversee performance standards.
  • Supervise, develop, and implement all donor relations and stewardship on behalf of the Wildcat Club including annual events for principal and major gift donors. Oversee staff efforts to develop and engage donor relations and stewardship.
  • Supervise, develop, and implement all ICA department and Student-Athlete related events and in-game special presentations on behalf of Arizona Athletics including but not limited to the UA Sports Hall of Fame, CATSYS, Welcome Back BBQ and Student-Athlete Convocation.
  • Oversee and implement the cultivation and stewardship of relationships with former student-athletes and Participants through the Letterwinners Association ( A-Club ) and alumni outreach program.
  • Oversee, develop, manage, and implement a comprehensive communication plan; as it aligns with the overall annual giving plan, for the A-Club including but not limited to: newsletter, social media, website, and various publications.
  • Represent ICA on campus and internal committees as designated.
  • Prepare and monitor annual budget for areas of oversight.
  • Supervise, develop, and implement all A-Club Letterwinners Association special events, reunions and in-game special recognitions.
  • Implement and develop programing that will help student-athletes transition from students to alumni. Will include special events, recognitions, career services, volunteer and engagement programing in conjunction with CATS Student-Athlete Development department.
  • Supervise, enhance and direct ICA community relations and engagement, including head coach and staff community appearances, facility tours, charitable donations, cheer and mascot appearances, and the Jim Click Hall of Champions Museum (HOC) and HOC facility rentals.
  • Ensure both the community and ICA department adhere to NCAA compliance policies for all community outreach and engagement efforts.
  • Oversee the High School Teacher of the Year recognition program.
  • Oversee and implement Big 12 Conference and Arizona Athletics outreach initiatives and stewardship.
  • Oversee and implement congratulatory ads for Letterwinners and stewardship purposes on behalf of ICA.
  • Oversee outreach and stewardship opportunities included but not limited to event tables, golf outings and promotional ads in support of community that align with department goals.
  • Maintain and make yearly updates to the Jim Click Hall of Champions Museum and heritage displays.
  • Establish and maintain an archive of all ICA historical items (donated and loaned) including department photo and video archives.
  • Maintain and prepare records on behalf of ICA and the UA Sports Hall of Fame Committee Chair.
  • Maintain and ensure adherence to department's heritage policies for awards and recognition.
  • Prepare annual report for department and highlight outreach efforts that are used in ABOR presentations, Wildcat Club annual giving materials, and annual student-athlete award presentations and national award nominations.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent advanced learning attained through professional level experience required.
  • Eight years of relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Master's degree.
