Hours: Standard University business hours

8:30am - 5:00pm (academic year)
8:00am - 4:30pm (summer)
Hours may vary based on operational needs. Evening and weekend hours will be required.

Job Description:
The Assistant Athletic Director, NIL Development will focus on external NIL efforts for Syracuse University Athletics. This role is pivotal in managing and monitoring growth, innovation, and organizational change to ensure that Syracuse University Athletics remains at the forefront of NIL fundraising standards. The Assistant Athletic Director, NIL Development will be tasked with building relationships and educating key stakeholders on the evolving NIL landscape.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in sports management, business administration, marketing, or a related field; masters degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in development, fundraising, athletics administration, or a related field.




Job Specific Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of NCAA regulations, state laws, and institutional policies related to NIL.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a variety of stakeholders, including business leaders, donors, and corporate partners.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and presentation skills.
  • Innovative mindset with the ability to drive organizational change and growth.
  • Commitment to the mission and values of Syracuse University and its athletics department.




Responsibilities:
Donor and business development:
  • Partner with the Deputy Athletic Director, Business Development and the Executive Director for the Cuse Athletics Fund to establish and maintain relationships with business leaders, donors, corporate partners, and other constituents.
  • Educate external stakeholders on the evolving NIL landscape in intercollegiate athletics and the specific opportunities available through Syracuse University Athletics.
  • Develop and deliver presentations as well as informational materials to promote understanding and engagement in NIL initiatives.

Manage NIL collectives and stakeholders:
  • Serve as a key liaison to Syracuses officially endorsed NIL collectives and other outside entities partnering with Syracuse University Athletics in the NIL space.
  • Collaborate with these partners to create and enhance NIL opportunities for student-athletes, ensuring alignment with legal and regulatory guidelines.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination between internal and external stakeholders to maximize NIL initiatives effectiveness and impact.

Innovation and organizational change:
  • Monitor industry trends and best practices to ensure Syracuse University Athletics remains at the cutting edge of NIL fundraising standards.
  • Implement innovative strategies and processes to foster growth and adaptability within the NIL program.
  • Assist in developing policies and procedures to support the efficient and effective management of NIL activities.

Fundraising and revenue generation:
  • Identify and pursue NIL related fundraising opportunities in collaboration with the Deputy Athletic Director, Business Development and the Executive Director for the Cuse Athletics Fund.
