Job Description

Job Title: Commercial Lines Underwriter

Location: Hybrid (2 days in-office, 3 days remote)

Position Overview: My client is seeking a skilled and motivated Commercial Lines Underwriter to join their team. This role involves underwriting and managing a portfolio of commercial lines insurance products, including General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Workers Compensation. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to make sound underwriting decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and underwrite new and renewal business for General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Workers Compensation lines.
  • Analyze risk factors and determine appropriate coverage and pricing.
  • Collaborate with agents, brokers, and other stakeholders to gather necessary information and provide exceptional service.
  • Maintain and develop strong relationships with clients and partners.
  • Ensure compliance with company guidelines, industry regulations, and best practices.
  • Monitor and manage the performance of the assigned portfolio.
  • Provide training and support to junior underwriters and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in commercial lines underwriting.
  • Knowledge of General Liability, Commercial Auto, and Workers Compensation insurance products preferred but not required
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in underwriting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid work environment.
