Position: Fleet Maintenance Manager

Position Summary:

The Fleet Maintenance Manager will report to the Regional Maintenance Manager and will support all duties associated with maintaining company equipment in compliance with the FMCSA, Safety, MOT, and DOT guidelines. This role is responsible for coordinating and planning maintenance for all company equipment.

To be successful in this role, candidates must understand a variety of equipment, be computer savvy and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to triage and prioritize projects. Additionally, the ideal candidate for this position will have strong supervisory skills to manage and supervise all maintenance employees including mechanics, technicians, and clerks.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Plan and oversee company equipment.
  • Scheduling PM services on a weekly basis.
  • Establish and maintain a Preventative Maintenance Program that will ensure equipment is kept in compliance with FMCSA and DOT guidelines.
  • Oversee effective computerized maintenance management system (TMT).
  • Identify and implement cost reduction opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
  • Recruit service vendors as needed.
  • Coordinate needed equipment repairs between shops and plants.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance tracking.
  • Negotiate repair costs and approve repair expenses up to an authorized limit.
  • Keep track of company equipment in all shops.
  • Maintain and Update Breakdown Report as needed.
  • Participate in weekly Manager Meeting.
  • Have weekly meeting with Maintenance Team.
  • Conduct bi-annual performance reviews with staff.
  • Maintain DOT compliance and documentation.
  • Review and approve work orders and invoices.
  • Perform other duties upon request.


Required Skills and Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience of maintenance operations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; vocational or technical training is preferred.
  • 2-3 years of managerial experience is preferred.
  • Must be comfortable using and learning modern technology including Microsoft Office and associated programs; fleet management software experience preferred.
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skill.
  • Goal oriented, highly motivated self-starter and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong work ethic with high personal standards for quality of work.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to understand cost and budget principles.
  • Solid understanding of DOT regulations.


Pay:

  • The pay is depending on experience ($66,560 - $72,000) and will be discussed during an in-person interview.
