Basic Function

HF Sinclair in El Dorado, KS is seeking a Superintendent Operations Heavy Oils who oversees and directs the Heavy Oil Business Team (Crude/FCCU/Coker).

Job Duties

• Serves as Operation Section Chief, leads the day-to-day activities of the Business Team. 
• Evaluates and resolves process unit problems
• May develop plan of operations and implement all requirements to meet the plan

Special assignments or tasks assigned to the employee by their manager, as determined from time to time in their sole and complete discretion

Experience

A minimum of eight years of on-the-job experience is required.

Education Level

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, is required.

Required Skills

Ability to lead and direct the work of other associates. Proficient with spreadsheet, presentation and word processing applications; strong planning, problem-solving, interpersonal, organizational, leadership, analytical, verbal and written communication skills. General understanding of corporate governance practices, handling regulatory compliance including State, Federal and various other government authorities. Proven leadership skills including mentoring, decision making, delegation and motivating others.

PREFERRED SKILLS:

A significant amount of experience in the energy industry is preferred. 

Supervisory/Managerial Responsibility

Responsible for the supervision of employees.

Work Conditions

Office and refinery based. Outdoor duties under wet and/or oil contaminated conditions, at both below grade and elevated positions. Industrial environment, including, but not limited to chemicals, pressure vessels, tanks and rotating equipment.

Physical Requirements

Job conditions require lifting up to 50 lbs, sitting, climbing up to the height of a unit, and bending. In some locations, must be available for weekend and after hour call-outs or be on call and able to respond to emergency situation 24 hour a day for approximately 12 to 15 days per month. May be required to work in confined spaces. Ability to operate and drive all assigned company vehicles at company standard insurance rates is required.
