Job Description: Firewall Engineer

Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and manage firewall systems to ensure network security.

Monitor and analyze network traffic to detect and prevent unauthorized access.

Create and maintain firewall policies, rules, and configurations.

Troubleshoot and resolve firewall and network security issues.

Perform regular updates, patches, and maintenance of firewall devices.

Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards.

Collaborate with IT teams to integrate firewalls into broader security solutions.

Document firewall configurations, processes, and security incidents.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

Strong knowledge of firewall technologies (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA).

Experience in network security, including VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure access protocols.

Familiarity with network protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, and DHCP.

Ability to configure and manage firewall policies and rules.

Analytical and problem-solving skills for diagnosing network security issues.

Relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA Security, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE) are a plus.

Strong communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.
