Position: Senior Underwriter - Accountants Professional Liability
We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Underwriter to join our team. In this role, you will actively participate in underwriting, marketing, and processing within the Accountants Professional Liability (APL) line of business. You may also engage in special projects and provide mentorship to less experienced staff. This is a professional-level position within our specialized team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Underwriting and Analysis: Review and analyze new business and renewal submissions for the APL team.
- Marketing and Communication: Ensure that our marketing initiatives are met and maintain consistent communication of our products and services to retail and wholesale brokers.
- Relationship Building: Develop and strengthen relationships with brokers, both existing and new, to attract business opportunities.
- Client and Broker Engagement: Actively participate in client and broker meetings.
- Business Development: Maintain a robust submission pipeline to achieve production and business mix objectives.
- Market Intelligence: Utilize market contacts to generate business, gather market intelligence, and cross-sell related products.
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Preferred qualifications include insurance educational work and designations such as IIA and CPCU.
- At least five years of underwriting experience with authority, preferably in professional liability lines.
- A strong dedication to exceeding customer expectations with every interaction.
- Proven relationships with professional liability specialist brokers, particularly in the Central U.S. market.
- Strong negotiation skills with a track record of achieving win-win outcomes.
- Ability to adapt and thrive in a dynamic, evolving environment.
- A focus on execution and delivering consistent, high-quality results.
- Proficiency in analyzing information to underwrite accounts profitably.
- Advanced skills in computer programs, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Willingness to travel approximately 20% of the time.
