Job Description

Avant Tech is looking for a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse for our Gastroenterology Department . In this role, you will provide specialized nursing care to patients with gastrointestinal disorders, working in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Your expertise will contribute to the effective management of gastrointestinal conditions and the overall health and satisfaction of our patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine the needs and conditions of patients with gastrointestinal issues.
  • Prepare patients for diagnostic procedures, including endoscopies and colonoscopies, and provide pre-operative and post-operative education and care.
  • Administer medications and therapies as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and standards.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and report any changes in clinical status to the physician or healthcare team.
  • Collaborate with gastroenterologists and healthcare team members to develop individualized care plans for patients.
  • Educate patients and their families on gastrointestinal health, treatment options, and lifestyle modifications.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic health records, EHR (CPRS).
  • Participate in quality improvement programs, research studies, and continuing education to enhance personal and departmental practices.

Requirements

  • Current and valid RN license in the state of practice.
  • ADN with 5+ years of experience in GI lab. OR
  • BSN with 3 years of nursing experience, preferably in ICU , critical care , or GI Lab.
  • Knowledge of gastrointestinal diseases, diagnostics, and treatment options.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required.
  • Strong critical thinking, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Experience with electronic health record systems.

Preferred :

  • MSN highly preferred
  • Experience administering sedation and handling GI procedures
  • Moderate Sedation certification
  • CCRN Certification from the AACN Certification Corporation. 
  • Prior experience caring for COVID-19 positive patients or PUIs.
  • Recent experience in GI specialty within the last 6 months.

Benefits

  • Location : Clairmont Road, Decatur, GA, 30033 (onsite)
  • Job Type : Full-time | Contract
  • Contract Duration : 2 years ( through September 2027)
  • Schedule: 8-hour (9:00 AM – 5:30 PM) or 10-hour shifts (7:30 AM – 6:00 PM)
  • Pay : $32.00 – $35.00 per hour (all-inclusive)
