Job Description

Project Manager (SaaS / Cornerstone Implementations)

Role Overview

The Project Manager is a strategic leader responsible for driving end-to-end delivery of enterprise-scale SaaS implementations, with a strong emphasis on Cornerstone OnDemand (CSOD) projects. This individual will lead complex, and highly visible customer engagements, ensuring alignment across stakeholders, managing project scope and timelines, and proactively guiding customers through implementation best practices.

The Project Manager acts as the primary driver of accountability, decision-making, and cross-functional coordination throughout the project lifecycle.

Scope of Responsibilities

Client Leadership & Engagement

  • Lead executive and working‑team–level customer meetings to define project vision, requirements, and success measures.
  • Drive customer accountability by reinforcing timelines, deliverables, and project discipline.
  • Influence and guide customers through changes, risks, and decisions with confidence and professionalism.
  • Anticipate client roadblocks and proactively recommend mitigation strategies.

Project Planning & Execution

  • Build comprehensive project plans, schedules, and communication structures for SaaS and CSOD implementations.
  • Facilitate cross‑functional collaboration with internal consulting, technical, and operational teams to ensure alignment throughout delivery.
  • Monitor progress, risks, scope, and quality while maintaining strict control over timelines and budget.
  • Manage project artifacts including requirements, RAID logs, change orders, communication plans, and status reports.
  • Ensure all implementation activities meet Bluewater quality standards and support the customer’s business outcomes.

Team & Internal Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Project Directors, Solution Architects, and Consultants to ensure cohesive planning and execution.
  • Escalate risks and issues appropriately, ensuring leadership visibility and alignment.
  • Provide leadership, clarity, and structure for internal project team members.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by recommending enhancements to delivery processes.

Closeout & Transition

  • Ensure completion of all required project documentation and client deliverables.
  • Facilitate smooth transition to post‑implementation support teams or ongoing managed services.
  • Capture lessons learned to support ongoing improvement and future project success.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of project management experience, preferably in SaaS, LMS, or enterprise technology implementation environments.
  • Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-level or strategic transformation projects with external clients.
  • Strong understanding of SaaS implementation methodologies; Cornerstone OnDemand experience strongly preferred.
  • Expertise in project planning tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, or equivalent) and proficiency in MS Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication skills—able to confidently lead client-facing conversations, present to executives, and facilitate workshops.
  • Proven ability to influence, guide, and hold customers accountable in complex delivery environments.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholder groups.
  • Experience working independently and within cross-functional teams.
  • Adaptability and resilience in fast-paced or evolving project scenarios.

Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, Scrum Master, or relevant project management certification.
  • Experience with Cornerstone OnDemand (Learn, Performance, HR Suite) or similar LMS/HRIS platforms.
  • Understanding of learning methodologies, talent development processes, or change management frameworks.

Attributes for Success

  • Confident leader who can drive momentum and clarity across customer and internal teams.
  • Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to anticipate challenges.
  • Ability to translate complex technical or process details into clear, actionable communication.
  • High sense of ownership, accountability, and commitment to project success.
  • Consultative mindset with a focus on building trusted relationships.
