Responsibilities

• Responsible for performing scientific experiments under the direction of the principal investigator related to immunology, infectious diseases, biochemistry, and structural biology. Experiments will include tissue culture, processing human and animal blood and tissue samples, performing virus and bacterial experiments, performing lab animal studies, protein expression and purification, immunological assays, routine lab autoclaving and dishwashing, managing day to day lab activities, and other related tasks as assigned.
• Performs routine maintenance of laboratory equipment, maintains laboratory equipment, and oversees supply orders. Assures implementation of safety procedures and instructs faculty and students in procedures and operation of laboratory equipment.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree or higher (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., etc.) in an appropriate field is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.
• The ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
