Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized individual to join our team as a Medical Records Specialist. As a Medical Records Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date medical records in a medical office setting. This is a vital position that ensures the smooth operation of our healthcare facility. Responsibilities

  • Organize and maintain medical records in accordance with established protocols and procedures
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality of all patient records
  • Retrieve and file medical records as needed for patient appointments and consultations
  • Process requests for release of medical information in compliance with privacy regulations
  • Maintain electronic health record systems and update patient information as necessary
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless coordination of patient care
  • Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain strict confidentiality of patient information
Skills
  • Proficient in medical terminology and understanding of medical office procedures
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems and data entry
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist OR Registered Health Information Technician (Preferred)
  • Previous experience working in a medical office or healthcare setting required
