Job Description
We are excited to invite a compassionate and innovative Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team as the Medical Director. In this vital role, you will provide psychiatric oversight and support our outpatient clinical operations, playing a key part in shaping our vision and program development. As a Medical Director in a community mental health outpatient setting, you will collaborate closely with a dedicated team of licensed therapists, clinical and executive directors, and other prescribing staff members to make a positive impact on the lives of children and adolescents.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive psychopharmacological evaluations to determine appropriate medication services for clients.
Offer non-face-to-face services, which may include phone consultations with physicians, pharmacies, clients, and/or parents/guardians.
Review, prescribe, and monitor medication for clients, ensuring optimal therapeutic outcomes.
Document all client-related contacts accurately and in a timely manner.
Contribute to program consultation and development, working to create innovative programs that enhance mental health support for children and youth in our community. Your creativity in exploring diverse treatment delivery methods is invaluable.
Collaborate with the Executive Director to establish a partnership with a psychiatry fellowship program, with the goal of supervising fellows on-site. This initiative aims to increase access to care for our clients.
Provide case consultation and training as needed to support the growth of your colleagues.
Foster coordination, education, and collaboration with local primary care providers and pediatricians to ensure holistic care for our clients.
Participate in the agency's Quality Management process as necessary to uphold the highest standards of care.
Be available for after-hours phone consultations on an as-needed basis to support client needs.
Offer consultation to clinicians regarding diagnostic impressions and psychopharmacological recommendations.
Maintain comprehensive clinical case records and documentation in accordance with clinic guidelines.
Uphold agency confidentiality and adhere to the Professional Code of Ethics at all times.
Manage all billing and client documentation requirements, including those mandated by Medicaid and insurance providers, ensuring prior authorizations are obtained when necessary.
Comply with state and federal licensing requirements, maintaining continuing education units (CEUs) for your licensing.
Qualifications:
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
A minimum of three to five years of direct practice experience with juvenile and young adult populations is preferred.

Salary Range: $250,000 to $310,000 per year

Location: Hybrid remote in Vancouver, WA 98683 (Relocation required before starting work)
