The Industry Insights and Strategy Director’s role is to support decisions impacting The Coca-Cola system, this position will help conduct competitive analysis in the consumer goods space and provide overall market intelligence to senior leaders. The candidate will have a strong financial acumen, a broad business skill set, and strategic thinking capabilities. The candidate should also be able to quickly distill actionable insights from varied sources and influence senior leadership through exceptional communications across multiple formats.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities - Assess product categories and competitors to understand industry dynamics. Analyze existing players, their value proposition, RTM, competitive position, and financial performance to inform category and corporate strategy. This includes assessing financial statements, analyzing category trend data, and researching long-term industry trends.
- Strategic Analysis: Develop insights using data analytics and structured problem-solving skills.
- Financial Statement Analysis: Conduct financial statement analysis (e.g., income statement, balance sheet and cash flow) and develop insights on business performance. Assist in exploring strategic options, developing creative solutions to complex business issues, and/or supporting decision-making.
- Trend Analysis: Support team efforts to monitor industry trends, channel evolution, and key competitors’ strategies and tactics. Identify and evaluate issues that could potentially impact The Coca-Cola Company’s competitive position and financial performance.
- Utilize FactSet, GlobalData, Euromonitor, Nielsen, and Compass to develop insights.
- Conduct analysis of global bottler performance and network capacity, including evaluation of financial statements, analyst reports, and valuation metrics.
- Support the development and communication of market intelligence. Synthesize and interpret data to identify beverage trends and emerging competitive threats. Clearly and effectively communicate findings to senior leadership and operating units.
- Leverage the global Competitive Intelligence and Strategy network to gather local market insights on competitive activity and identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
Education Requirements - Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Marketing. MBA preferred.
Related Work Experience - 7+ years; top-tier management/strategy consulting firm, investment banking, investor relations, or corporate strategy team preferred.
- Ability to influence decision makers throughout the organization; comfortably present findings through advanced visualizations, narrative formats (e.g. PowerPoint, white paper, memos) and in-person (e.g. presentations, video conferences).
