Job Description

Rye Country Day School is seeking a Head Cross Country/Asst. Distance Indoor and Outdoor Track Coach beginning November 17, 2025. Rye Country Day School is a coeducational, Prek-12, college preparatory school located in Westchester County, New York dedicated to providing students with an excellent education using both traditional and innovative approaches. Specific responsibilities of the position include:

• Serve as Head Cross Country Coach for Boys and Girls Program in fall season. 
• Serve as Assistant Coach for Indoor and Outdoor Boys and Girls Distance Runners during winter and spring seasons. 
• Effectively planning and organizing both practices and competition calendars
• Teaching and training a team of beginners through advanced level distance athletes.
• Creating an inclusive, exciting, and challenging environment each day
• Collaborating with the assistant coaches in planning and communication
• Working with the Director of Athletics to hire Assistant Coaches when necessary.
• Maintaining a safe environment at all times
• Communicating with athletes, parents, coaches, and opponents in a professional manner
• Attend Spring Trip

Desired qualifications:

• Minimum of 3-years successful high school boys and girls distance running. 
• A passion for athletic competition and the ability to motivate and inspire athletes
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Commitment to building a diverse, equitable and inclusive school community
• Energetic and enthusiastic, flexible and patient

Salary Range: $15,000 - $17,000 (for all three seasons) depending on level of play and experience.
