Reports to: Garden Store Manager

Responsibilities

• Must be able to work between 8 a.m. & 5 p.m.
  • Must be able to work a minimum of 2 hours per shift
  • Must be available Saturdays
• Operates cash registers
• Takes care of customer’s needs (Greeting customers, helping them with product selection, giving general advice, takes phone calls, transfers calls, takes messages etc.)
• Stocks shelves with merchandise
• Put price stickers on product
• Bags birdseed and grass seed
• Performs daily opening/ closing and general GS operations (including: locking/ unlocking of buildings, filling cash register, counting cash register at the end of the day, making sure garden store is clean, etc.)
• Assists with keeping store organized and clean
• Assists sales staff, deliverymen, and other areas as workload demands
• Assists with other tasks as needed.

Education/ Experience

2-3 years Retail Sales Experience

2-3 years operating cash register

Previous garden center experience (preferred not required)

Knowledge/ Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of Plants & horticulture products
• Able to work under pressure and multi-task
• Empathetic to customers
• Creative
• Ability to type
• Knowledge of Microsoft office (word, excel)
