We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Regional Controller to join our Property Management division. This role is crucial in overseeing all accounting functions, financial reporting, and systems management. You will play a key role in integrating financial processes with various departments to ensure streamlined operations and top-notch service delivery.
As a senior-level accounting professional with extensive commercial property management experience, you will be responsible for leading financial management, strategic planning, and reporting functions. Your expertise will help drive our organization's success and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Leadership: Direct and manage the organization's financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, and strategic planning.
Collaboration: Work closely with executive leadership to provide financial insights and support for long-term planning, program initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
Advisory Role: Serve as a trusted advisor to senior executives, offering expert advice on financial matters and business strategies.
Policy Development: Enhance and refine financial policies and procedures to align with best practices and support organizational goals.
Financial Guidance: Offer guidance on financial issues and challenges, driving improvements in budgeting processes and financial management.
Cash Flow Management: Oversee cash flow projections and manage relationships with financial institutions.
Strategic Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend financial strategies for business opportunities, including alliances, acquisitions, and mergers.
Team Leadership: Supervise and develop the finance and accounting team, fostering a culture of growth and efficiency.
Transition Management: Lead the transition of outsourced finance sub-processes (AP/AR/Closing/Reporting/FP&A and Property Accounting), including document creation to facilitate the transition.
Tactical Duties:
Accounting & Property Accounting:
Manage and guide the property accounting team, ensuring quality, compliance, and best practices.
Optimize processes and resources, liaising with clients, property management staff, and stakeholders.
Review and approve financial work products and lead problem-solving efforts.
Corporate Initiatives:
Oversee corporate initiatives, including outsourcing and systems implementations.
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
Construct, maintain, and monitor budgets, addressing issues as they arise.
Collaborate with HQ, Tax, and Treasury Departments on reporting, audits, and initiatives.
Strategic Support:
Collaborate with executive leadership on account optimization and expense management.
Contribute to financial analysis, modeling, staffing models, and business analytics.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
At least ten years of financial and management experience, with a background as a CFO, VP of Finance, or Controller in a private company.
Proven experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A).
Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and strategic mindset.
Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred.
Experience with outsourcing transitions preferred.
Additional Information:
This position requires working in-office during standard business hours. Remote work or telecommuting is not available.
Salary Range: $150,000—$175,000 USD.
