Finance Manager

Location: Minneapolis

Job type: Full time

Schedule: Standard Daytime hours, Monday-Friday

Salary: $115,000 - $180,000

*Compensation for this position includes annual salary, 25% short-term incentive bonus, and full benefits package offerings. The exact amount of base salary may vary based on experience and skills brought to the role as well as the geographic location of the role.

What You’ll Do

Responsible for managing various accounting functions as well as leadership of the accounting team. Creates and analyzes financial statements and other financial documents to aid management in decision making process. Supports Finance leader with financial reporting, forecasting and analysis.

Management Responsibilities:

  • Establishes and maintains a collaborative and trusting relationship, supervises and directs work of direct report(s).
  • Leads and motivates direct report(s) to accomplish performance and development goals.
  • Performs leadership functions such as hiring/termination decisions, conducting performance reviews, and managing performance of direct report(s) which includes mentoring and skill development through positive reinforcement, constructive and timely feedback.

Business and Financial Leadership:

  • Continuously monitor and control business performance through financial reviews.
  • Collaborate across departments to drive process improvements.
  • Provide timely, accurate reports and analytics to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Strengthen internal controls and develop risk management procedures in partnership with other leaders.
  • Implement action plans based on internal/external audit recommendations promptly. Communicate transparently with OpCo and Regional leadership.

Financial Planning & Analysis:

  • Prepare budgets, forecasts, and performance analyses at all levels.
  • Develop metrics and reports for operations, regions, and branches.
  • Create management commentary and financial presentations.
  • Support Sonepar FP&A with reporting and analysis. Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities, and inform management.

What You Bring

Requirements:

  • 5 - 7 years in an Accounting Manager or lead Financial Analyst role.
  • Electrical, Industrial and/or distribution experience preferred but not required.
  • Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from a 4-year college or University in Accounting or finance required,  CPA or MBA is preferred
