Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and passionate Dog Groomer to join our team. This role involves grooming dogs to breed standards or owner specifications, ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the grooming process above all else. You will have the opportunity to schedule your clients, prioritize tasks, and work independently within our established grooming standards. We have solid recurring clients who bring their pets in for grooming, allowing you to begin making money from the get-go. This is a commission-based position.

Responsibilities:

• Groom dogs according to breed standards or owner preferences, including bathing, drying, brushing, clipping, and styling fur.
• Trim nails, clean ears, and perform other grooming-related tasks as required.
• Ensure the safety and well-being of dogs during grooming procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of grooming tools and work areas.
• Communicate effectively with clients to understand their preferences and ensure customer satisfaction.
• Schedule appointments and manage your grooming calendar efficiently.
• Keep records of grooming appointments, services provided, and client information.
• Monitor the health and condition of dogs for any signs of illness or injury and report concerns to pet owners or veterinarians as necessary.
• Stay informed about current grooming techniques and trends in the industry.
• Work cordially alongside kennel-techs and respect boarding and daycare procedures.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a dog groomer with a portfolio of successfully groomed dogs.
• Knowledge of different dog breeds and their specific grooming requirements.
• Ability to handle dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and compassionately.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong attention to detail and grooming standards.
• Ability to work independently and manage your schedule effectively.
• Certification from a recognized grooming school or equivalent experience is preferred.
• Passion for working with animals and a commitment to their well-being.
