Posting Date: Job Schedule: Locations: Degree Level: Job Description: WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR This position provides leadership and oversight to multiple academic coaches within Baylor University's Student-Athlete Center for Excellence. This person will oversee the team that provides comprehensive academic support to football student-athletes through academic coaching, coordinating support & graduation plans and monitoring continuing eligibility. Direct reports will also provide support to an Olympic sport team or teams.
Required Qualification s: Completion of Master's degree. Excellent oral and interpersonal communication, analytical, and writing skills. Excellent computer (Microsoft Office) skills. Experience leading & supervising within revenue generating sports. Ability to work evenings and occasional weekends.
Applications must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. WHAT YOU WILL DO - Provide general oversight to the academic support team for football including serving as the main point of contact for all department-wide football academic related matters
- Assist with weekly football academic administrative tasks as needed
- Provide support, mentorship and growth opportunities to direct reports
- Support student-athletes through personal academic and career advising
- Track course progress, adjust support plans and monitor NCAA eligibility
- Serve on the SACE Leadership Team to provide oversight to all areas withing SACE
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Meet with prospective student-athletes and their families during the recruiting process
- Successfully engage with a wide range of constituents including student-athletes, coaches, athletics staff and administrators, faculty and campus partners is essential
- Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission
- Ability to comply with University policies
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
