Job Description

Interpower Corporation is currently seeking a team-oriented candidate to join the Customer Service Team. Our Customer Service Representatives meet the needs of customers through friendly and professional communication, accurate order entry, and timely problem-solving. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (with an hour lunch), and is on-site at our Oskaloosa, Iowa facility.

Candidates should possess excellent written, verbal, and listening skills that are accurate and concise; a strong desire to delight customers through individual and team contributions; ability to pay close attention to detail and have previous computer experience. Previous customer service experience in a similar position is desired.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Ability to delight customers via phone and email with accurate, friendly, and professional service.
  • Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills that are clear and concise.
  • Ability to use available resources, apply problem solving and critical thinking skills, and know when to ask questions or escalate issues.
  • Proven organizational and prioritization skills to manage multiple requests and follow tasks through to completion.
  • Excellent computer skills, including ERP, Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to multi-task while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Desire and ability to learn in a training-intensive role; comfort asking questions and seeking feedback.
  • Ability to perform in an encouraging team environment and contribute positively to team culture.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations in a caring, professional, and responsible manner.

The following would be a plus:

  • Previous Customer Service experience (office, call center, or other customer-facing roles).
  • Good knowledge of our products or experience learning technical product information.
  • Ability to type approximately 30 words per minute or the commitment to improve typing speed using tutorials.
  • Completion of additional education or training related to business, communication, or similar fields.

  • Proactive and comfortable taking ownership of tasks start to finish.
  • Detail oriented and able to translate complex product information into customer friendly language.
  • Quick learners who are open to feedback and continuous improvement.
