Job Description

The YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking a   full-time  Crisis Advocate to join our team. Our Crisis Advocates work in the Violence Intervention and Prevention Department, assisting in creating just communities with the purpose of improving the quality of life of the individuals we serve.

As a trained professional, the Crisis Advocate help to provide a range of human and social services for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, human trafficking, and other crimes.  These roles provide essential time-limited intervention to immediately stabilize those in crisis and follow survivors with supportive services as they heal and recover.

Position Details:

• Please note that this position comes with compensated on-call responsibilities.

• Working hours are 37.5 hours per week with the following shift:
  • Sunday - Thursday 4:00pm - midnight.

• General knowledge of community resources, legal system, and law enforcement
• Effective computer skills and ability to learn new case management software programs

Position Requirements:

• Associates Degree in Human Services or related field with prior-related work experience; Bachelors Degree preferred.  An equivalent combination of education and experience will all be considered.
• Valid driver’s license, clean driving history, and reliable personal vehicle. 
• FBI, Child Abuse, and State Police Clearances or the ability to obtain.
