Job Overview

Burnett Construction LLC is seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Construction Business Developer to lead our strategic client acquisition and relationship-building efforts. This role is pivotal in expanding our footprint in the commercial construction market by identifying, cultivating, and securing new client relationships while maintaining a strong understanding of preconstruction and project management principles. The ideal candidate will be based in the OKC area and bring experience in both business development and general contracting.

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the commercial construction market.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients, architects, developers, and industry partners.
  • Represent Burnett Construction at networking events, industry functions, and client meetings.
  • Collaborate with the preconstruction and project management teams to align client needs with service capabilities.
  • Develop marketing strategies and outreach efforts to grow the client base.
  • Maintain accurate records of pipeline activity and business development metrics.
  • Support the development of project proposals, RFQs, and RFPs.
  • Stay current on industry trends and competitor activity.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in business development within the commercial construction industry.
  • Prior experience working with or for a general contractor, preferably in a project management or preconstruction capacity.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Construction Management, Marketing, or related field preferred.
  • Deep understanding of construction processes and the full project lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in CRM tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and construction-related software.
  • Based in or willing to relocate to the Oklahoma City (OKC) area.
  • Professional demeanor with a clean-cut presentation.
